PASTOR TERRY STROM
God has blessed me with a great partner, Sandy for 37 years. I am a second-career pastor. Prior to the ministry, I worked in the accounting field while my wife taught kindergarten at a public school. In 1990, we moved our family to St. Louis to attend seminary. In 1992, we moved to Guatemala City for our vicarage and served Cristo Rey (Christ the King) Lutheran Church. My first call was to the bilingual congregation El Buen Pastor (Good Shepherd) Lutheran Church in McAllen, Texas. I have also served at Trinity Lutheran in Cissna Park, Illinois, (10 years); Trinity Lutheran in Urbana, Illinois, (9 years); and Trinity Lutheran in Bloomington, Illinois, (4 years).
We have been blessed with three children and six awesome grandchildren.
I have led various mission trips in the United States, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras and Kenya. My joy in the ministry is serving and encouraging people to experience God’s love, and to share that joy with others.
Blessings in my life have been meeting my husband Mark when we were counselors at a church camp, marrying the next year.
We adopted two children Robin at 7-months-old and Sean at 5-years-old. We raised our children in Indiana. Robin lives in Monticello with her family. She has three children. Sean passed away 10 years ago, leaving a wife and three children. His family lives in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
I worked as a medical transcriptionist for a cardiologist in Terre Haute, Indiana and ended my career at Union Hospital there. Mark and I moved to Monticello four years ago . We have been blessed with many friends here so far, including the people at Faith Lutheran Church, and I always look forward to meeting more.
I am enjoying working part-time as the office assistant here at Faith Lutheran Church. My office hours are Tuesday and Thursday 9:00-3:00 and Wednesday 11:00 -3:00.
